With over 80 years in charity service, one full time employee, 40 part time volunteers and 800+ families served. Alamance County Christmas Cheer provides Christmas assistance for Alamance County families who have children that are in the 8th grade or younger and the elderly age 60 and older.
The goal is to provide children with new unwrapped toys, food for the family
and warm clothes when possible.
The focus for the elderly is food and warm clothing.
The secondary goal is assist with all other county agencies involved in Christmas giving. ACCC works hard to ensure services are never duplicated and the resources are used fairly and wisely.
But it doesn't stop there. Alamance County Christmas Cheer from time to time is able to provide other needs such as medical and school supplies with the aid of local businesses and clubs.
If you want to see the magic of Christmas just look into the eyes of a child.
A child does not understand financial problems, illness or a family crisis when they want what every child wants for Christmas.
A parent wants to give their children the same as other children around them. Christmas cheer provides that opportunity so they won't have to experience disappointment on Christmas morning.
Most families needing assistance are referred by school social workers and or other county agencies.
Those who are not referred, but request assistance, are thoroughly screened to verify their needs.
Alamance County Christmas Cheer is funded solely by the generosity of people, just like you. who want to help the underprivileged children and elderly in our community.
